The Hon. Paulina Moussum MDP CR (born 9 November 1968) is Commissioner of External Affairs and the South Pacific. Previously she was Commissioner of Transportation from 2014 until 2018 and Council Leader of Chevrona from 1998 until her nomination on the 1st Septimum Commission in 2014.
Early life and education
Paulina Moussum was born on 9 November 1968 in Chevrona, in Anserisa, she has a younger sister, Hortensia Moussum, player for the Chevrona Red-Blacks and part of the Anserisan National Football Team.
She attended the University of Anserisa in sociology between 1987 and 1992.
Career
After graduating from the University of Anserisa, Moussum worked as a researcher for the government of Anserisa and published many independent studies.
Council Leader of Chevrona
She was involved in citizens group, especially one demanding more public transit funding in the nation. In 1994, she ran to become Council Leader of Chevrona but was defeated. She ran again in 1998 and was elected with a strong majority. During her tenure, she worked to get rail access to Chevrona and worked to get a small tram system running which is now one of the most efficient transit system in Anserisa.
Commissioner of Transportation
In 2014, Moussum was approached by President Columbo Septimum to become Commissioner of Transportation stating that her work done in Chevrona to expand the public transit could prove to be even more efficient at a higher level. As Commissioner, she expanded many public transit projects, especially the public transit development of Alisa.
Commissioner of External Affairs and the South Pacific
She was offered to become Commissioner of External Affairs and the South Pacific at the end of her first mandate which she gladly accepted. President Septimum mentioned her negotiations skills as the main reason to promote Moussum to one of the most prestigious position in the Republican Commission.
Open Arms Initiative
She became a key part in the establishment of the Open Arms Initiative which was implemented in the beginning of 2020. The work was a cooperative effort with Virginia Vogélium, then Commissioner of Justice. She was also a strong supporter of her nomination as the first Anserisan Representative to the World Forum.
