The Hon. Virginia Vogélium CR (born 27 May 1979) is the 1st World Forum Representative of Anserisa and the 5th Speaker of the World Forum. Previously she was Commissioner of Energy on the 1st Septimum Commission from 2014 to 2018 and Commissioner of Justice on the 2nd Septimum Commission from 2018 to 2020.
Early life and education
Virginia Vogélium was born on 27 May 1979 in Geneva, in Anserisa, she has an older sister.
She attended the University of Anserisa in law between 1998 and 2003.
Career
After graduating from the University of Anserisa, Vogélium worked as a lawyer in the greater Geneva region. She founded the Anserisan Accessible Justice Group to demand better access to public defendants in Anserisa, especially opposing politics of President Mauritio Cyprianum. She worked closely with the government of President Horatio Secundinum on the implantation of an accessible justice policy for Anserisa. In 2012, she was approached by the Republican Alliance to be a candidate in the 2012 Elections but she refused.
Commissioner of Energy
In 2014, he was asked to become Commissioner of Energy for newly-elected President Columbo Septimum and she accepted. She became a key member of the 1st Septimum Commission, and helped with implement the Anserisan Energy Plan. Her comprehension of the law and her help with the understanding of the international law brought her to work closely with Councillor Paulina Moussum, with the development of energy partnerships with other nations.
Commissioner of Justice
In 2018, she was offered to become Commissioner of Justice which she gladly accepted. With the addition of Paulina Moussum on the Republcian Commission, she started working on the legal and international law aspects of the Open Arms Initiative which started to be implemented in the beginning of 2020. She was part of the committee that wrote the membership application to the World Forum and was asked to become the first World Forum Representative of Anserisa and to head the newly formed Anserisan World Forum Mission Coordination Administration, which was to be under the Department of External Affairs and the South Pacific, headed by Moussum. She resigned from her position as Commissioner of Justice on 29th February 2020 so she could go through the process of being approved by the Council of Regions.
World Forum Representative
On 10th March 2020 she officially became the first World Forum Representative for Anserisa and participated on her first debate on 12th March 2020, the Debate on the Acession of the Kingdom of Ezervölgyi and the Federal Republic of Besern as members of the World Forum.[1]
During the debate on the Constitution of the International Court.[2], which was started in February 2020, she was a key dissident on the number of judges, believing 3 judges would make for better judgments by reducing the number of parties involved, and modified her stance on the second voting for the 5 judges option.
Speaker of the Assembly
On 5th July 2020, she was elected as Speaker of the World Forum, becoming the 5th speaker.[3] and the first from the Rainbow Islands
