Roleplay in TSP is conducted in two main places: the Regional forums and this very wiki! People claim their plots on one of the three rp maps and get to rp an entire nation. RP in general is conducted in two main ways: Storylines, involving specific characters and events in IC posts, and worldbuilding, which focuses less on characters and more on objective reality and statistics. There are also two very important distinctions to make:
IC/OOC (In Character / Out Of Character) distinction: whether something is being said in or out of character. In character, someone's nation may be a cruel, nationalist and racist empire. This does not reflect the opinions of what the Rper behind the nation believes is right; generally, such nations are necessary to provide conflict and intrigue to the ongoing narrative.
Canon/Not Canon distinction: Whether something is "canon." Canon means that it is considered to actually have happened in the canon. The most common usage of this is making jokes about one's nation on the Discord. Do not feel threatened if anything likes this. Remember: Anything not on this wiki or the regional forums is considered not canon! This also applies to extra-canon events. Just because your nation went to war in a what-if scenario does not mean that this sentiment is transferred over to the main canon.
There are also some important rules to consider for all canons regarding roleplay.
Consent is key. You can not do anything to anyone's nation without permission, and vice versa. This includes having agents, starting wars, having trade, or having their territory in pre-history. Any instance of this should be disregarded as not canon.
Threadmaker is King. If the maker of a thread in the forums (or page on the wiki) asks for a certain type of courtesy (such as not posting ooc comments in an IC thread, keeping conversation to the topic of the thread, or not editing a wiki page without permission, Adhere to it. It doesn't matter if you don't think it's right; It's not your thread.
Roleplay is collaborative. This means that you aren't the maker of the canon. It's not your place to rule about other people's worldbuilding or writing, or about the rules of the canon. Suggestions, Constructive criticism and comments are welcome, but do not try to change other's nations or the rules of a canon to your liking.
Community-owned is the whole community. certain canons have NPNs (Non-Player-Nations). You can not use these nations in your rp or worldbuilding willy-nilly, however. Small things like trade deals are fine, but things like war, territorial shifts, historic worldbuilding, alliances and other major parts of NPNs should not be changed or occur without the consent of the community at large.
Canons
Pacifica
See also: Pacifica on the forums, Pacifica on TSPedia Pacifica is modern day roleplay canon of TSPRP, and is the most popular of the three by number of roleplayers. Its universe is set in a region of the Earth-like planet Pacifica, which mirrors RL technological development and offers a realism-oriented setting for roleplays about RL-like history and geopolitics.
The Pacifica canon is the modern-day roleplay canon of TSPRP, and the oldest of the current 3. It follows modern dates and levels of technology, and features real-world religions, ideologies, and languages, but has a separate universe and does not use Earth’s geography or history. The active map area is the South Pacific, a region in the southern hemisphere of Pacifica around the prime meridian.
Roleplay in the Pacifica canon is more grounded and realism-focused than the other two canons and Knowhere. The most influential and established historical event of the canon is the Great War, an enormous region-spanning military conflict from 1949 to 1955 which involved most of the canon’s great powers, brought the development of nuclear weapons in 1955, and played a significant role in many nations’ histories. Other major events occurring more recently IC include the establishment of the World Forum as a peace-promoting international organization in 2017 and the Reizen Civil War from 2017 to 2022.
Prydon, officially the Republic of Prydon (Prydonian: Praydon Laséia)(Karnetvorian: Прайдонь Республика) is a sovereign nation located in the southern cone of the Cordillian Continent, west of the Cordillian Mountain Ranges. Prydon shares borders with Mitallduk Confederation, Krauanagaz Federation, Zuhlgan, and shares the region with Karnetvor and Techganet. It borders the Cordillian Sea and the Marinkora Mountains to the west, and the Cordillian Mountains to its east. The nation straddles the vale of the Belaya River, and occupies an expansive flat terrain known as the Plodorodnyy Croplands. There are 46 million citizens of Prydon, spread across a territory of around 137 thousand kilometres square. Prydonian and Karnetvorian are the main ethnic groups residing in Prydon.
Prydon is a Unitary Semi-Parliamentary Republic, with its capital in Lasvorn, an ancient trade post deep in the heart of the country. The nation is fairly decentralized, and is separated into 17 Okrugs. Prydon’s largest cities included Aetrinun, Kostroya in the north, Solnevorn, and Setrivié in the south. Aetrinun, the largest city of Prydon, is a bustling metropolis, serving as the economic and cultural centre of Prydonians, as well as being one of the major urban centres of Southern Cordillia. The Plodorodnyy Plain is one of the centers of cotton production in the world that supplies massive amount of raw materials for Prydon's textile manufacturing.
Prydon went through a Communist dictatorship following the fall of the Kingdom of Prydon in 1957. The dictatorship was eventually replaced by an Ultravisionary regime led by Nikolai Andrezhnev, which made Prydon one of the leading scientific and engineering innovators in Pacifica. However, the people suffered under a police state, and the nation became isolated due to horrible human rights score. By the end of the 20th century, the Ultravisionary system was in shambles, and entering the 21st century, Prydon entered into a state of economic and societal crisis. The economy eventually plummeted, and a revolution brought down the Ultravisionaries, replacing it with a democratic semi-parliamentary government. Prydon is a member of the Cross-Pacific Space Cooperation. (Full article...)
The Cordilian Sea stretches from the North Pacific Ocean in the north to the Southern Ocean in the south, and washes the shores of Cordilia to the east and the island continent to the west.
It encompasses 30,630,000 km2 (11,830,000 sq mi) in area, and covers about 6% of the total area of Pacifica. The Cordilian Sea splits into two regions with different and independent ocean currents at the equator due to the Coriolis Effect. It splits into the North Cordilian Sea and the South Cordilian Sea, this last one taking most of the area of the Cordilian Sea and being the main current in the occidental shore of Cordilia.
Its average depth is around of 3,300 m (10,800 ft). The Deep in the West Continent Trench, located west of Kosbareland, is the deepest point of the Cordilian Sea. (Full article...)
The Sænat ("Senate") is the Efladian federal parliament. It is the only federal representative body that is directly elected by the Efladian people. The Sænat was established by Title III of the Constitution for the Republic of Eflad (Efladian Alman: Verfassung) in 1840 as one of the legislative bodies of Eflad and is therefore the historical successor to the Parliament of the Kingdom of Eflad.
The members of the Sænat are representatives of the Efladian people as a whole, are not bound by any orders or instructions and are only accountable to their electorate. The minimum legal number of members of the Sænat (Efladian Alman: Mitglied des Senats) is 370; however, due to the system of overhang and leveling seats the current 47th Sænat has a total of 428 members.
The Sænat is elected every four years by Efladian citizens aged 16 or over. Elections use a mixed-member proportional representation system which combines first-past-the-post elected seats with a proportional party list to ensure its composition mirrors the national popular vote. An early election is only possible in the cases of a prime minister not being elected in the course of 7 days after being nominated by the President (Art. 52), or if the Sænat fails to confrm a motion of confidence of the prime minister (Art. 58). Since the administrative reform of 2014 Sedunn has three levels of administrative divisions. The territory is divided into sixteen regions (Sedunnic: dolē), which are further divided into 416 municipalities (tavvasa'lē) and 33811 districts (ovutlē). The regions are self-governing local authorities responsible for providing advanced public health care, public transportation and regional development. The municipalities have local self-governing authority and are the main welfare providers. They also provide emergency services, public social services, sanitation and urban and rural planning. The purpose of the districts is population registration, including civil registration of births, marriages, civil partnerships and deaths, and for the collation of census information.
There are eleven historical counties (Sedunnic: haenlē) that still are important in culture. The counties are still recognised officially, but since the latest administrative reform all real duties were assumed by the new regions which were designed to have a more equal population distribution. Culturally, Sedunn is also divided into Beilltemm-Sedunn (Bailtem-Sedunn) for the lands located in Bailtem and the overseas territory Remetull Islands in the South Pacific Ocean . Sometimes Beiltemm-Sedunn is subdivided into Ankjytann (Cisjytann)and Akjytann (Transjytann), dividing the mainland along the watershed line in the Jytann Mountain Range. (Full article...)
See also: A1-0 on the forums, A1-0 on TSPedia Sector A1-0 is the science fiction oriented roleplay canon of TSPRP, focused on futuristic technology and interstellar space travel. It is set in a relatively small, eponymous subset of the fictional Lampshade Galaxy, and provides a setting suited for stories making use of both hard and soft science fiction.
Aurora
See also: Aurora on the forums, Aurora on TSPedia Aurora is TSPRP’s fantasy roleplay canon, and is the smallest of the three. It is set in the land of Terra Aurora, which features common low and high fantasy fixtures such as dragons, wizards, and magic; it additionally supports Victorian fantasy and steampunk themes like airships and autonomous clockwork machinery, as well as hybridized styles that combine facets of both classic medieval fantasy and steampunk together.
Extra canon
Extra-canon is a catch-all term to refer to anything hosted by TSPRP that is not canon to the three main canons. This includes both things like "What-If" scenarios and events not connected to any canon.
RMB/Knowhere
Knowhere is TSP's RMB roleplay. It is considered separate from the forums TSPRP. It is generally much more lax and free form than forum rp, which is intended for longer-term and larger scale rp.
